Today, I joined with Mostyn residents for their Macmillan coffee morning to raise money to fund support for people with cancer.

People from all over the UK host their own coffee mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. This year’s official coffee morning was 27 September 2019, but people are encouraged to hold a coffee morning on any day that suits them.

In 2018 people raised an incredible £26,914,382 for Macmillan and it is hoped that this year will top that figure.

The first ever coffee morning was held in 1990. Since then Macmillan coffee mornings have raised over £200 million. Read more “Mostyn Macmillan Coffee Morning 2019”

I have welcomed the news announced today (07 March 2019) that the landmark announcement of a Sector Deal with the UK Government. The agreement will help to create tens of thousands of highly-skilled jobs across the UK and attract billions of pounds in investment to the country.

This is the first Sector Deal for a renewable energy technology. It puts offshore wind at the centre of the nation’s clean, affordable and reliable energy system, almost quadrupling our capacity from 7.9 gigawatts now to at least 30GW by 2030, generating one-third of our electricity.
