I am continuing to work for changes in the law so that retail workers are protected from harashment, voilence and abuse. One of the ways we can make change happen is through the use of an All-Party Group.
These Groups involve MPs and Peers from all sides of the Houses of Parliament and ensure that our voice is amplified to the UK Government.
As many of you will know, I have been working with Usdaw – the trade union that represents shopworkers – the Co-Op and many business groups to ensure that this change is implemented.
This week I attended to APPG for Retail Crime to discuss next steps on the promises made by the Minister at the Home Office and how we can support local shopkeepers – especially newsagents – against crime and support the police in tracking down those who commit theft.
