Delyn MP David Hanson has heralded the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 as a unique opportunity for business investment in North Wales.
Over the next five years there will be tens of thousands of contracts worth over £6bn available to companies, small and large, throughout the UK. So far over 500 contracts have been awarded with 98% going to UK based companies and 50% to companies outside London.
David Hanson said:
“There is overwhelming support for the London 2012 Olympics in Wales with around three quarters of people pleased that the event is taking place in the UK.
“The associated tourism benefits of the games are estimated to be worth up to £2.1bn in the next ten years.
“And Wales will play its part, this are an estimated 75,000 further business opportunities that will become available before 2012 and I want make sure that businesses here in North Wales have all the information they need to compete.
