Delyn MP David Hanson and Sandy Mewies AM took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September at Llwyn Beuno Community Centre, Holywell.
Organised by Macmillan Cancer Support, individuals and groups up and down the country will host coffee mornings to raise money to help people living with cancer.
Last year the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning saw over 50,000 people hold a coffee morning to help people living with cancer. Together with their friends, families and colleagues they raised an incredible £7.5 million. Money raised help Macmillan fund more nurses and health and social care professionals, build more cancer centres, improve access to cancer information and provide more financial help to people living with cancer.
David Hanson said:
“The Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Mornings continue to go from strength to strength with more people taking part and more money being raised every year.
“I very much enjoyed my annual trip to the Llwyn Beuno Community Centre and I know that everyone taking part in this event across Flintshire will raise lot of money to help those suffering from cancer.”
Sandy Mewies AM said:
“This is a great annual event which brings people together to enjoy delicious home-baked scones and raise money for this very worth-while cause. Macmillan’s gives such strong support for people with cancer and their families. I hope that this year will see bumper attendance and bumper cash raised at all the coffee mornings organised.”
