Delyn MP David Hanson is encouraging primary schools in Delyn to nominate their lollipop person in a big to win the title of the Kwik Fit Lollipop Person of the Year.
The winning school will be presented with £3,000 to spend on school equipment and the Lollipop Person of the Year will win a holiday of a lifetime. In addition, the competition will also announce 12 regional winners from across the UK who will also receive £500 worth of holiday vouchers and each of the 12 schools will be awarded with £100 worth of book tokens.
This is the seventh year of competition. Last year approximately 15,000 entries from across the UK were received, which included poems, letters, drawings and DVDs, created by the children with the help of their parents and teachers.
David Hanson said:
“This is a great opportunity for children and schools to promote the messages around road safety, whilst recognising the importance of lollipop people.
“According to road safety charity Brake, pedestrian injury is listed as the leading cause of accidental death of children in the UK.
