Delyn MP David Hanson has opened the new garden at Nercwys Primary School.
The garden, which was given to the school in 2005 by the Diocesan Office of the Church of Wales, has been transformed into a new environmentally friendly resource to be used by the children and by the local community.
The project attracted funding from groups like the Thomas Howell Education Fund for North Wales, the Lottery and Countryside Council for Wales and St Modwen. The project was also assisted by Groundwork and volunteers from Flint High School who helped to organise, clear, renovate and transform the new garden.
David Hanson said:
“I am honoured to be opening this garden and really enjoyed seeing the pupil demonstrations of the garden in action. I want to pay tribute to everyone that has contributed towards its development.
“This new garden is a tremendous initiative and it is particularly encouraging to see so many local groups working together to deliver this resource for the benefit of the school and the local community.”
