This weekend I visited Flint Library to see their exhibition on the forthcoming Urdd National Eisteddfod.
The Urdd National Eisteddfod is one of Europe’s largest youth touring festivals with over 15,000 children and young people competing. It is a competitive festival which will see children and young people under the age of 25 competing in various events such as singing, dancing and performing. They are the elite few from around 40,000 competitors across Wales who have won their place following local and regional rounds held in the spring months leading up to the Eisteddfod.
The Urdd National Eisteddfod will be in Flint between 29 May and 4 June 2016.
I am really looking forward to the Urdd coming to Flintshire. It will allow us to show the everyone visiting what our little slice of Wales has to offer.
I know that the we will put on the best Urdd ever. Our hospitality is second to none. It is great that the local Flint library is putting on a display to let people know about the Urdd National Eisteddfod. It will really help get more people involved and let them know of all the activities that they will be able to take part in during its tour of north Wales.
