I had the pleasure visiting the newly refurbished Dee Inn, Flint to wish the pub all the best for the future. Last Friday, 06 October 2017, the pub had its official reopening and were expecting hundreds of people to attend for a night of music, food and good local beer.
The brewing and pub sector makes a huge economic contribution to Delyn, new figures from a study commissioned by the British Beer and Pub Association show. The sector supports 915 jobs and provides £15m in value to the local economy.
Across the country the sector supports almost 900,000 jobs and adds £23bn in value to the UK economy.
Flint is lucky to be a town that can still boast a number of quality pubs. Pubs, like the newly refurbished Dee Inn, bring the community together and help secure the future of our town centres.
The work that Gaynor and the team have done to refurbish The Dee Inn is fantastic. They have kept the character that you have come to expect from the pub, but at the same time brought in same excellent improvements. When I visited The Dee Inn was busy with locals showing that this is a thriving pub.
It is important that we support our local pubs as it brings valuable money to our communities and provides decent jobs. Figures show that in Delyn alone pubs provide 915 jobs and bring in £15m to our local economy. These jobs ensure that our high streets have solid foundations to build upon.
Publicans are working hard in Flint, and other towns in Delyn, to keep their doors open and I am determined to do all I can in Parliament to ensure that they can continue to provide the excellent service we all know and love.
