World Book Day

Yesterday was World Book Day and I encourage school child to pick up a book this weekend.

World Book Day is organised by World Book Day Ltd, who is a registered charity whose financing of World Book Day comes mainly from contributing publishers, the generous sponsorship of National Book Tokens Ltd, some literacy partnerships and other supports, as well as participating booksellers who fund the entire cost of Book Token redemption.

Every school participating in World Book Day will be given book tokens for their students. These book tokens will be redeemable between 29 February – 27th March 2016.

World Book Day has provided thousands of children with book tokens to buy their own book and discover something new or explore their imagination.

I am encouraging every child in Flintshire to go out to the bookshop or library this weekend and grab a book. Or even give writing your own book a go.

I hope that children in Flintshire will take this opportunity and grab a book and discover the joy of reading.
