Westminster Hall Debate: Policing anti-social crime

Providing safety and security on our streets is the first role of our government. Yet we have seen nearly 10% of our police cut in North Wales. Our police are working tirelessly to keep us safe, but the Government has made their job harder than it should be.

Today, I attended a Westminster Hall debate on anti-social behaviour and I put it to the minister that the forthcoming budget should allocate more resources to our police. Only then can we stop low level criminals becoming the hardened criminals of tomorrow.

If national government funding cuts are implemented it will see us return to levels of police not seen in a generation. I will not stand by whilst this reckless policy is pursued.
