I am urging constituents to take part in the Department of Transports public consultation into the InterCity West Coast (ICWC) franchise. The current franchise, operated by Virgin Trains, is due to end in April 2018 and the Department for Transport will be opening up bids from interested parties.
Not only does the Department of Transport going to open up bidding, but they are keen to understand the views and priorities of the customers and stakeholders with an interest in this important railway.
The consultation will include a number of local events for the public. Responses to the consultation should be submitted before the closing date of the 2 August 2016.
The consultation document and online survey are available at https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/future-of-intercity-west-coast-rail-franchise
They are also available in accessible formats and hard copy on request by emailing ICWCConsultation@dft.gsi.gov.uk or contacting the Department for Transport at:

Many of us use the current Virgin Trains service from Flint, Chester or Crewe and this is an excellent opportunity to tell the Government what improvements should be made to the services on offer.
I hope as many of you as possible take part in this survey and help shape the future of the InterCity West Coast franchise. The trains that serve Flint are vitally important and our voice must be heard when it comes to any further action that should be taken.
