On Friday, I joined with Steve Blakesley, the author of the ‘Witches Knickers’ poetry book at Flint Library to donate 12 copies of the book to local libraries across Delyn.
I donated £60 to Mr. Blakesley to buy 12 copies of his self-published poetry book to be distributed to different public libraries in Delyn. Mr. Blakesley is donating the money to North West Cancer Research.
Other copies of the poetry book are going to be distributed to Sixth Form colleges in Delyn for the pupils to read and enjoy.
Steve has written a brilliant poetry book and I was delighted to help support him in getting as many books out to local libraries and schools as possible. Not only has Steve dedicated his time and effort into writing this book, but he is donating the proceeds to North West Cancer Research.
Sadly, figures show that 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer. The money raised from this book is much needed for cancer research and will make an important difference. I urge as many of you as possible to pop down to Flint Library and pick up a copy of ‘The Witches Knickers’ so you can enjoy Steve’s writing.
Not only are these books going to local libraries, but they are also going to local Sixth Form Colleges. These will be no doubt enjoyed by the pupils. I wish Steve all the best of luck with his new book.
