Olympic Family Fun Day: 18 August 2016

Jade Jones, our very own Olympic gold medallist in Taekwondo, is inviting everyone to a family fun day on the 18th August 2016 from 12 Noon. An event supported by the Mayor of Flint and myself.

This fun day will be held at Mountain Park Hotel and will have activities, games, food and drink to enjoy and cheer on Jade in her second Olympic gold medal attempt. 4 years ago Jade won a gold medal at our home Olympic Games in London and now she is travelling to Rio De Janeiro in Brazil to gain another gold medal in Taekwondo.

A large screen broadcast will be available for us all to watch and cheer on Jade whilst she attempts to win another gold medal and do Flintshire proud.

This is going to be a fantastic day and I hope everyone will come along to cheer on Jade in her gold medal attempt. She did us so proud at the last Olympic Games and I want us to show our support on the 18th August.

Flint Mountain Park Hotel will be hosting this excellent day out so that come together have fun and celebrate the hard work and effort that Jade has put into becoming a potential two time Olympic gold medallist.

So, clear the 18th August in your diary and come and join us in the Mountain Park Hotel to enjoy a brilliant day out with the family and cheer on Jade as she competes in the Rio Olympic Games.

Jade Jones, Olympic gold medallist said:

“Winning the gold medal for Team GB at our home Olympics was my proudest achievements. The welcome I got when I came back to Flint was amazing and it is brilliant that people are organising a family fun day in August to bring everyone together.

“I have been training constantly to ensure that I can gain another gold medal and do Flintshire proud. It will be great to know that back home people will be right behind me cheering me on.

“I hope as many people as possible attend and enjoy the day out.”

Mayor of Flint Town Council Ian Roberts said:

“Flint Town Council are very proud of Jade. She has been an inspiration to everyone in our community. I hope everyone will come down to our family fun day to cheer on Jade as she tries to secure a second Olympic gold medal.”
