Euan Loveridge, currently studying politics in Mold Alun Sixth Form, completed a week’s work experience in the parliamentary office of David Hanson, MP for Delyn.
During his time in Parliament, Euan undertook a variety of office tasks and attended a committee debate on fracking. He also attended Treasury Questions where the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne MP, was responding to MP’s concerns.
Euan is currently studying French, History and Maths as well as Politics at AS level and will return to school with a greater knowledge of what goes on in Parliament.
“I have really enjoyed my time in Westminster and I have gained great experience and knowledge about the type of work involved in an MP’s office. The wide range of tasks I have completed have made me realise how varied the work can be. I have also had the opportunity to go on a tour of Parliament, attend several committee debates and meet other MPs.
“The most enjoyable task was drafting press releases which included important campaigns and help for people.
“I would definitely recommend this type of work experience to others interested in politics and working in parliament. I would also like to thank David for giving me the unique opportunity to work in the office.

“It has been great to work with Euan this week. I hope he has enjoyed his time in Westminster and that this experience has given him a broader knowledge of the work of an MP. This will have also helped extended his knowledge of how politics works in real life and perhaps given him an idea about a career for the future.
