This Friday, Flintshire MP David Hanson will visit Holywell High School to give support to sixth form pupils who are going taking part in the Engineering Education Scheme Wales “Big Bang Fair” on Monday.
Mr. Hanson will see firsthand the hard work that the pupils and staff have put into both the Airbus and JCB projects they been involved with, as well as the presentation itself. The pupils, who have been involved with projects from both JCB and Airbus, will give the Flintshire MP a preview of the presentation that they will do at the fair.
The Big Bang Fair is one of the largest events to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths in Wales. It will be attend from 15 teams from schools across North Wales, of which Holywell High School will be one of them. The event offers students an opportunity to attend a large exhibition of companies, universities and colleges. Pupils from Holywell High School will be attending the event in Llandudno on Monday 24th March 2014
Speaking before the event David Hanson MP said;
“It is good to see pupils in Holywell High School working hard and taking an interest in engineering and technology and getting involved with big names like JCB and Airbus.
The UK will need 1.86 million engineers to meet demand from industry in the next decade, so it is important that young people are inspired to think about careers in science and engineering, and I’m glad that schools in Flintshire are helping lead the way in doing this.”
