Delyn MP David Hanson will tomorrow, the 6th March place a free £50 bet at the Ladbrookes in Flint ahead of the Cheltenham Cup to try and win some money for a local Flintshire charity.
As part of events leading up to the Cheltenham Cup, Mr Hanson will visit the local Ladbrookes shop in Flint at 9:15am to see the shop in action and to place a special £50 bet on the race, with any eventual winnings going to a local Flintshire Charity of his choice.
During the visit Mr Hanson will hear about the work of the 8 local betting shops in the constituency which employ around 40 people. He will also discuss the effects and benefits of betting shops in the Flintshire community and in the UK as a whole where the gambling industry pay a billion pounds a year in tax, and contribute over £3billion annually to the country’s economy.
David Hanson MP said:
“I’m pleased to be able to take part in the Cheltenham Cup and I’m hoping my luck might be in to win some money for a charity here in Flintshire.
Local betting shops provide jobs for local people so I’m looking forward to meeting the staff there and hearing about their views on the industry and the situation locally.”
