David Hanson MP joined supporters and campaigners at an event on Saturday to celebrate the official raising of a Welsh Flag at Flint castle, an even that was the culmination of a successful two year campaign to ensure a welsh flag could be flown from the site.
Mr Hanson backed the campaign to help celebrate the a historic role flint castle played in the development of the region and of Wales. It is hoped that the renewed interest in the site raised by the flag will help create interest in the area and drive further tourism to north Wales.
David Hanson MP said:
“Flying the Welsh flag at Flint castle is a small but important way of recognising the role our region has played in welsh history and helping ensure we celebrate our heritage, so I’m pleased to be part of this campaign.
Congratulations should go to all those who worked hard for the past couple of years to make this happen.”
