Delyn MP David Hanson attended the formal opening of the £11.4 million new Holywell hospital. The facility replaces the town’s old Cottage Hospital and Lluesty Hospital, both of which have a proud record of serving the town and surrounding area for many years.

David Hanson said:
“I was privileged to be given a tour of the hospital a few weeks ago just before the first patients were transferred in and was very impressed with the building and the level of care that it has the capacity to deliver.
“It is a special day for me as I have been campaigning for the hospital for over 20 years. It is thanks to the UK Government working with the Welsh Assembly and hard work from local councillors and support groups which has made it possible. I want to pay special tribute to the Good Companions who have kept the pressure up to replace the facilities for many, many years.
“The hospital is a tremendous boost to the town of Holywell and its people.”
