Delyn MP David Hanson has welcomed Flintshire Planners decision to refuse retrospective planning permission for a group of travellers at Dollar Park near Bagillt.
David Hanson said:
“I welcome this decision which is one I have been campaigning for alongside local residents around Bagillt over the last few months.
“I have written to Flintshire County Council on numerous occasions on behalf of concerned constituents urging them not to give retrospective planning permission for the site.
“The development of the site should not have gone ahead without planning permission and a proper assessment of the impact the changes would have on the local community.
“The changes at the site have undoubtedly had a disruptive impact on the local community and as there are still concerns over issues like traffic and the suitable treatment of sewage, it is right that retrospective permission should not be granted.
“I fully understand the need for good facilities for the travelling community in Flintshire but the development of any site or property must be subject to the planning laws from the outset.”
