Delyn MP David Hanson has presented a cheque for £3,920 to the charitable trust Plas Derw Trust Ltd.
Plas Derw Trust promotes outdoor and environmental education and run Flintshire Forest School. The Trust is running weekly sessions for the Youth Justice Service, transition programmes and Holiday Clubs.
The Trust has secured the funding from Big Lottery Fund ‘Make it Happen’ for its Forest School Summer Holiday Club. The Holiday Club will provide young people aged 10-19 years free Forest School sessions from the 23rd July.
David Hanson said:
“This funding award is recognition of the hard work of those connected with the Plaas Derw Trust as well a great opportunity for hundreds of young people to get involved with the Forest School sessions.
“I welcomed the opportunity to hand over the cheque and learn more about the Forest School projects first hand.”

“Forest School holiday club has been increasingly successful over the past twelve months. The funding from the Big Lottery is an excellent opportunity for all young people to be able to experience Forest School from all areas of Flintshire.
“We plan on getting the children/young people off the streets during the holidays to learn new skills make new friends and gain in confidence and self-esteem.”
