Delyn MP David Hanson has visited Carmel & District Cricket Club as part of an England and Wales Cricket Board supported event designed to prepare grounds ahead of the new cricket season.
The 2010 NatWest CricketForce was projected to be the biggest in the project’s nine-year history with more than 1,500 clubs taking part and an estimated 85,000 volunteers: a bigger volunteering programme than the Olympics.
David Hanson said:
“I was delighted to be able to do my bit to get the ground ready for the new season. It is a great team at Carmel and I wish them well for the season ahead.
“Speaking to the team I understand that they are hosting the second invitational European Twenty20 tournament at the Club in June, with countries including Hungary, Bulgaria and Alderney taking part.
“Last year I was able to come down to the tournament and I am sure this year will build on last year’s success.
