Delyn MP David Hanson has officially opened Café Florence following a comprehensive refurbishment of the site. The local MP met up with members of the Denbighshire Countryside Service and café staff before cutting the ribbon.
The café is owned by Denbighshire County Council and managed through a successful partnership by local resident Jane Clough. The building has undergone a transformation and food at the café involves using the best possible seasonal ingredients, produced as locally as possible and freshly prepared.
Denbighshire Country Council have spent around £50,000 on the building, £15,000 of it being European funding through the Denbighshire County Council Financial Support Programme for businesses. The floor was funded by a project managed by the European funded Cadwyn Clwyd company and is part of their Coetir Clwyd project to promote the use of local timber and local craftspeople.
David Hanson said:
“I am very much enjoyed opening the new café which is set in one of North Wales’s areas of outstanding natural beauty.
“The hard work and investment in the café’s facilities will provide further incentive for people from miles around to visit one of the areas premier natural attractions.”
