Delyn MP David Hanson has reacted to the results of the Post Office’s Area Plan Proposal for North Wales.
David Hanson said:
“I want to thank everyone that took part in this consultation. I made representation on behalf of everyone that contacted me.
“I am disappointed that after the consultation the Royal Mail still feels that all the Post Office’s proposed for closure are no longer viable. I realise that this will be a disappointment to those that use the local service their Post Office provides.
“Some post offices accepted that closure was the only viable option due to customer numbers but I am concerned for some that felt they could have stayed open.
“Post Offices play in our local communities, which is why the Government has committed an extra £1.7 billion to the network.
“Through investment and planning, I now want to focus on ensuring that the Post Office network in Delyn gets onto a more sustainable footing, helping it to look forward with confidence.”
