Delyn MP David Hanson has signed the “Get Fair” pledge after meeting with representatives from the charity ‘Together Creating Communities’.
The North Wales based charity works on local community issues, runs leadership development programmes and builds coalitions of community groups to work on a wide range of issues.
The ‘Get Fair’ pledge focuses on what Government and communities can do to protect civil society through this difficult economic time. It asks for more Government action to further reduce poverty levels and ensure that people have access to essential public services.
David Hanson said:
“I welcome the work of ‘Together Creating Communities’ working in Flintshire to engage communities and lobby for some of the most vulnerable sections of our society.
“Whether it’s introducing the National Minimum Wage, introducing the winter fuel payments, increasing pension credit levels or increasing the child element of the child tax credit, there is much that this Government has done to tackle poverty.
“It is clear that there is more to be done and I will continue to work to tackle poverty.”
