A new European funding stream allowing Flintshire businesses to apply for development funds has been welcomed by Delyn MP David Hanson.
In the new Assisted Areas map which will be in place until 2020, businesses from across Flintshire will be able to apply for funds under European regional aid rules to bid for additional funding and tax breaks to create jobs, invest in new premises or machinery and take their business forward.
The Assisted Area status map is still subject to approval but is expected to take full effect later this summer. Businesses need to be located in a ward that has been given the Assisted Areas status. The new map replaces one which covered wards from 2007-2013.

David Hanson MP said:
“This new European funding will help businesses develop, expand and invest in the local Flintshire economy and is good news for everyone working and living here. It helps demonstrate some of the positives that being part of Europe can bring to Flintshire as we would not be eligible for this funding otherwise.
I encourage companies in eligible wards to put in bids and make sure they are taking advantage of the support they can get to help be part of a thriving north Wales economy.”
