Delyn MP David Hanson has welcomed new figures showing a fall in unemployment in Delyn, but has called for the government to do more to ensure people in Flintshire benefit with wages still lagging behind the cost of living.
Today’s figures showing a fall in unemployment across Flintshire has been cautiously welcomed by local MP David Hanson amongst concerns that rises in pay are still lower than living costs, and that this is causing difficulty for many people in Flintshire where wages have seen the biggest fall in Wales.
David Hanson MP said:
“Another fall in unemployment is of course very welcome, but the government has no room to be complacent; there’s still not enough being done to tackle the cost of living crisis so many people are facing because of spiralling living costs and inflation keeping wages low.
More needs to be done to help people make ends meet and to improve the quality of jobs that are on offer here locally. So i’ll continue to push the government to ensure our area gets the support and success we need.”
