Schools and colleges across Delyn are being urged by local MP David Hanson to sign up to attend the 2014 Futures Day at the Farnborough International Airshow. The designated day is offered at no cost for school and college groups that sign up to attend, and sees aerospace companies of all sizes and from all over the country hang up their sales hats and open their doors to the next generation of budding engineers and scientists.
Now in its fourth cycle, the 2014 Futures Day promises to be bigger and better than ever before, drawing thousands of young people to discover more about potential career opportunities and world-leading technology. Students will be able to take part in an exciting programme of hands-on activities, as well as meet experts, apprentices and graduates already working in the sector and see some of the world’s most cutting edge commercial and defence aircraft in flight. Students of schools that are interested in visiting Futures Day at the Farnborough International Airshow should visit http://www.farnborough.com/Content/Futures-Day to find out more.
David Hanson MP said:
“Futures Day offers access to one of the world’s largest airshows to young people at no cost. I encourage schools and colleges across Flintshire to sign up to attend the show and find out more about the huge range of opportunities on offer in this dynamic sector in a hands-on, engaging manner.
The aircraft industry is really important in our area so it’s a great chance for students to learn more and to meet other like-minded young people, as well as talk to those that have already successfully entered the sector.”
