Delyn MP David Hanson will welcome former Home Secretary Alan Johnson MP to Mold Town hall next week (31st March) for a book reading and Q&A session.
Mr Hanson invited Mr Johnson to Mold to hold a book reading from his most recent volume of memoirs ‘Please, Mr Postman’ which was published in September 2014 and went on to win the Specsavers National Book Awards “Autobiography of the Year” last year. This event marks the first time Mr Johnson has held an event in Flintshire and will be the last opportunity for people in Flintshire to hear him speak and ask questions this side of the election. There will be an opportunity to meet Mr Johnson and to get signed copies of the book.
The event will be held from 12:30-2pm in Mold Town hall and is open to everyone, with a £5 charge on the door to cover the costs of the event and refreshments that will be provided.
David Hanson MP said:
“Alan has had a remarkable life and his book captures this incredible rise from growing up in poverty and leaving school early through as a career as a postman to serving as the Secretary of State for the Home Office. I’m really pleased he’s been able to offer people in Flintshire this opportunity to hear him speak and ask him questions, and I hope as many people as possible come and enjoy the event.”
