Delyn MP meets award-wining Solem Quartet at Flint school

David Hanson MP has visited Ysgol Gwynedd CP in Flint to meet the Solem Quartet on their school music tour to meet the group and see their work inspiring students.

The award-wining Solem Quartet visited three schools in the area in conjunction with Flintshire Music Service to inspire young Flintshire school students, and Mr Hanson went along to see their skills in action.

The group visited Ysgol Gwynedd CP, Ysgol Cae’r Nant and Elfed High School and finished with a rehearsal with Flintshire Senior Strings at Mold Alun High School.

David Hanson MP said:

“Music is an important part of children’s education and can help not only bring enjoyment but crossover skills and discipline that can help them for the rest of their lives, so I’m pleased the Solem Quartet have taken time out of their schedule to come and visit the local schools.”

“The pupils seemed to enjoy it so I hope were inspired to pick up an instrument and get involved with music themselves.my thanks go to Clwyd Theatr Cymru also for their involvement”
