Flintshire MP David Hanson has led a debate in Westminster on the north Wales Economy and called for the UK government to provide more support for the north Wales economy, especially through improved transport infrastructure.
Mr Hanson was speaking in a debate he secured in Westminster to highlight the successes and challenges facing the North Wales economy. Mr Hanson discussed how best to develop the successes of local companies like Airbus, along with the how to tackle the challenge of stagnating unemployment figures across Flintshire and Delyn, and the importance of improving the transport infrastructure between north Wales and north-west England.
David Hanson MP said:
“It’s vital for people across north wales that our economy thrives and that local success stories are supported and challenges overcome, so I’m glad to have been able to use this debate to challenge the government on what more they can do to help people locally.
There are many issues that would help develop a thriving locally economy but cross-border transport links are vital so I hope the government brings forward plans for the Halton Curve, HS2 and other important improvements immediately.”
