Delyn MP David Hanson has met with representatives of the SUBWAY® brand, together with Heart Research UK to discuss the company’s commitment to the UK Government’s Responsibility Deal at a joint event in Parliament this week.
Mr Hanson attended the meeting to hear more about the work of the brand in trying to help develop a healthier product for customers. Mr Hanson was attending to hear about the changes which will be relevant to the SUBWAY® stores in Delyn, which are owned and operated by independent franchisees and employ a number of people from the local community.
The SUBWAY® brand is the only Quick Service Restaurant brand to have endorsed eight nutrition-based Responsibility Deal pledges and leads the industry in the nutritional improvements that it has made across its product range which include an average 48% reduction in salt, elimination of all trans fats, as well as reducing levels of saturated fats and sugars.
David Hanson MP said:
