Delyn MP David Hanson has welcomed the latest crime figures for North Flintshire which show an overall drop in crime of 7.4%, with criminal damage offences down by 28.5%.
The figures also show a reduction in anti-social crimes of 13.1% with vehicle crime reduced by 25%.
David Hanson said:
“These are clearly very positive figures indeed and show that the work being put in is clearly paying dividends in our local communities.
“I want to praise the work of North Wales Police and District Inspector Dave Roome in working to fight crime, tackle anti-social behaviour and further increase public confidence
“North Wales Police have been backed by substantial investment under this Government and clearly the increased numbers of officers and the use of Police Community Support Officers are helping to make Flintshire a safer place to live.
“There have been a number of successful local campaigns which have targeted key areas – like the national drink-drive campaign and actions to tackle drugs and handling offences.
“I meet regularly with representatives from North Wales Police and I continue to work closely alongside them. These are good results but we can never be complacent and must work to reduce crime still further here in Flintshire.”
