Delyn MP David Hanson has welcomed the latest crime statistics that show that crime continues to fall across England and Wales.
The latest recorded crime figures show that total crime is down by 12 per cent; burglary is down by 5 per cent; and violent crime has fallen by 10 per cent with the most serious crime down by 15 per cent.
The latest British Crime Statistics also show substantial drops in levels of crime. The risk of being a victim of crime is down one percent – the chance of being a victim of crime is now at its lowest level since the survey began in 1981.
David Hanson said:
“These latest figures show that crime levels continue to fall and the risk of being a victim has decreased. Over the last ten years overall crime has come down by 32 per cent.
“Whilst real progress is being made through initaitives like community policing and engagement there is still much more work that needs to be done.
“Whilst worry of crime is going down the level of perceived anti social behaviour remains stable and it is clear that whilst measures like Anti-Social Behaviour Orders are having an impact there is still work to do.
“I will continue working with North Wales Police and local communities to help bring the crime levels in Flintshire down further.”
