After being nominated as a Community Hero for his achievements locally Arthur Hughes joined David Hanson MP at a special reception at Number 10 Downing Street.
Arthur and his daughter Gillian are pictured at the reception with Gordon and Sarah Brown.
Arthur has worked tirelessly for various organisations in and around Mold for many years. He is an organiser at the Mold and Buckley Contact Club; he collects funds and organised events for the RNIB; he runs two Credit Unions which have been a huge success and helps out at the Parkfields Lunch Club, mainly for the over 60s.
David Hanson said:
“I was so pleased to spend the evening with Arthur and his daughter in Westminster. Arthur is one of the unsung heroes of our community, who gives up so much of his time to help others.
“Arthur has a real energy for life and believes passionately in giving something back to society. I know that the Prime Minister and Sarah Brown had a good chat with Arthur during what was a really special occasion.”
