I have worked with Hannah Blythyn AM, Mark Tami MP and Carl Sargeant AM to arrange a carers coffee and chat on Friday 10th June between 12pm-4pm at Connah’s Quay Labour Club.
This is a chance for everyone who is caring for someone to relax and chat with other carers over a cup of tea or coffee and discuss any concerns or issues you have with your elected members. You will also be able to find out what help and support is available from carers organisations, charities, support groups and other partners attending.
For more information phone 01244 823547 or email [email protected]
The reason why we have organised this is to mark Carers Week – which runs from 6-12 June 2016.
The average amount of care being provided by carers equates to 100 hours a week. All too often carers are overlooked in the health system. They provide free care for family relatives and friends; putting their own lives on hold so that they can provide the quality care they provide.
I hope as many carers as possible will be able to attend. It will be a great opportunity to chat with other people who are carers and discuss with your MP or AM any issues you believe need sorting.
