Today, I visited Age Connects new Flint office. Age Connects North East Wales is an entirely independent local charity that supports people over the age of 50 years old across Flintshire and Wrexham. They aim to support older people in the local community to live independently in their own homes for as long as they chose to do so.
The new office is located in Lewis House, Swan Street in Flint – what used to be the old Job Centre – and will offer advice and information to all those that need help. They will also be putting on social activities for the local community as well.
Age Connects are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help support these services. If you are interested in helping call on 0845 0549969.
The next big event being organised by Age Connects is a Christmas Coffee Morning on the 15 December between 10am-2pm. All are welcome to come and see the new office and facilities.
Age Connects is an excellent charity who provide a much needed service for the people of Flintshire. I wish all the best to Nesta and the team, because it is through their efforts that community spirit remains so strong in Flintshire.
I hope volunteers will come forward to help Age Connects in delivering its excellent services and information to our community.
Nesta Rees from Age Connects said:
“This is a great new development for Age Connects North East Wales and we know the people of Flint will help us to grow this service and benefit from it.
