Delyn MP, David Hanson has presented a cheque for £1,300 to Hospice at Home, which is based at Wrexham Maelor Hospice.
The Hospice at Home Service provides day time and ‘out of hours’ nursing care and support for patients living with a life limiting illness within Flintshire and Wrexham, helping them to remain in their home in the last months/weeks and days of life. They also help relatives and those close to the patient during this time by offering respite support.
The sums were raised by members of the Mountain Park Golf Club, who held a competition to raise money in memory of Hilary Lewis. Her husband, Mike, has now presented a trophy for an annual Golf competition.
Mr Lewis, who lives in Padeswood, said:
“The Hospice at Home Service supported my family and my wife, Hilary, in very difficult times, and I can’t thank them enough. I also want to thank the 109 people who took part in the competition to raise this money”.
Delyn MP, David Hanson said:
“I was really pleased to be able to present the cheque, on behalf of Mike and the Golf Club. Hospice at Home do a fantastic job.”
Anybody who wants to find out more about their service should contact their District Nurse or GP.
